Four Elements - Coaster

This coaster was made this summer at my community studio. The design is based off of the animated TV show, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The symbols shown on the coaster are the show's symbols for the four elements, which the show is heavily centered around. This particular layout is based off of when Uncle Iroh drew them for Zuko in Book 2 when teaching him to redirect lightning.

This design was carved into the coaster face and filled in with Speedball's Black Underglaze. It was made with the glaze Clear, which is provided at my studio, and has a smooth, glassy feel to it. This piece is dishwasher and microwaveable safe.
